Balanced Growth Fund

The fund is managed on a predominantly top down, thematic basis, with a value bias. The managers focus on achieving returns rather than following indices. A core balanced growth fund for long-term investors.

Launched in April 2002, the CF Midas Balanced Growth Fund is managed by Simon Callow and Mark Wright.

The Balanced Growth Fund is a balanced multi asset portfolio, which aims to achieve long term capital growth without taking undue risk. Diversification is achieved through investment in UK and Overseas Equities, Fixed Interest, Alternative Assets, Structured Products, Property and Private Equity. Assets are held directly and through third party specialist managers and products.

Simon Callow

Simon has over 15 years investment management experience, including private client stockbroking and discretionary fund management. Simon spent 8 years with BWD Rensburg, as an Associate Director, is a Fellow of the Securities Institute and has his IMC. Simon joined Midas Capital Partners Limited in October 2005 and has been co-managing the Balanced Growth Fund and Midas Income and Growth Trust.

Simon became the lead manager on the Balanced Growth Fund on 1 July 2011.

Mark Wright

Mark joined Midas Capital Partners Ltd in September 2006 after graduating from University of York with a BSc degree in Economics. He has since completed his IMC. Mark’s primary focus was initially on the portfolio’s structured product allocation, although his research and analysis has since expanded to cover most asset classes.

Mark became deputy fund manager of the fund on 12 July 2011.

The fund is managed predominantly via a top down thematic approach with a value bias. The focus is on achieving returns rather than the composition of indices. The flexibility of this approach ensures the manager is able to take advantage of global themes without unnecessary constraints on his management style. Risk is managed through core positions and each asset class is weighted within a specified target range. The aim of this strategy is to ensure the portfolio is diversified whilst not incurring undue risk. This fund is suited to investors seeking a long term investment via a balanced growth strategy.
